Life Settlement Broker License, Individual - Initial

License Overview
Applicable to: Individuals, at least 18 years of age and of good moral character.
Description: Application for first-time license & reinstatement; fees; requirements; miscellaneous forms & links. License to advertise/advise a person on availability of life settlements (for fee, commission or other valuable consideration). Represents only policy owner's interests.
Statute: CGS 38a-465 through 465g
Transaction Type: Initial
Duration: Annual. License expires March 31 of every year.
Requirements
Prerequisites:

Nonresident applicants must hold an equivalent license in any other state.

Data collection forms used by brokers are required to be filed with the Life and Health Division prior to use and must contain all disclosures required by C.G.S.§38a-465f. Data collection forms may not be labeled as applications for life settlement contracts. Applications for life settlement contracts must be filed by providers and approved by the Department.
