Surety Bail Bond Agent License, Firm - Initial

License Overview
Applicable to: All business names.
Description: Application for first-time license and reinstatement; fees; license requirements; miscellaneous forms and links. License to solicit, negotiate or write bail bonds backed by insurance companies.
Statute: CGS 38a-660 et seq and Supporting Regulations
Transaction Type: Initial
Duration: Biennial. License expires January 31 of even-numbered years.
Requirements
Prerequisites: Inspection/Review. At least one owner, partner, officer, director or other designated responsible person must also be licensed as a Surety Bail Bond Agent.
Required Documentation: Mail original application, including requested documentation for any "yes" answers to questions, and check for $130 payable to "Treasurer, State of CT", to the State of CT Insurance Department's Fraud, Investigations and Compliance Unit - Bail Bond Regulation (refer to address on Application).
Other Information: Immediately mail a photocopy of the application, along with a photocopy of your check, to the Asset Forfeiture Bureau (refer to address on Application).
